YOUR OWN NAVIGATOR TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATIONAL D&I STRATEGIES.

FOUR SIMPLE STEPS TO A D&I FRIENDLY WORK SETTING

The iDI-Nav® Method

The iDI-Nav® method applies a four-phase process: Firstly, in the diagnose phase, workforce data related to D&I barriers is extracted through a fully anonymized questionnaire. Secondly, in the assessment phase, a comprehensive D&I barriers’ map is generated reflecting both the range and the varying degree of barriers’ prevalence within the organizational context. Drawn upon the D&I map, an analysis report is delivered including a disaggregated data analysis and recommendations for D&I developmental plan, activities such as customized training, awareness activities, etc. may be considered. The third phase includes the implementation of the agreed upon D&I developmental plan. Last but not least, the evaluation phase comes with a second running of the iDI-Nav® tool to have a results-driven evaluation, measure the progress and plan further ahead.

Your own iDI-Nav® map: the insider's view on D&I barriers

A comprehensive D&I barriers’ map, informed by the primary disaggregated data generated by the iDI-Nav® survey questionnaire,  produced reflecting both the actual range and the varying degree of D&I barriers’ prevalence within the explored organizational work setting. The “spikes” of the iDI-Nav® map depict the negative influence of each barrier in a scale of 100 (minimum negative prevalence: 0; maximum negative influence:100). Barriers with intense spikes, point out the fields which an organization may want to concentrate and improve on. The iDI-Nav® map produced in the Diagnose phase is considered as the D&I barriers’ baseline with which to compare the iDI-Nav® map produced in the Evaluate phase following the training and other activities to improve the D&I level in the organization and, thereby, to showcase any progress achieved.

Your own, customized D&I report: an evidence-based assessment on D&I barriers in your organization

Upon the completion of the iDI-Nav® survey questionnaire and drawn upon the findings and the generated D&I barriers’ map, a customized D&I assessment report containing a data analysis report and recommendations for further activities, such as customized training, awareness activities, etc. will be delivered. Once the Evaluate phase is completed, a second customized D&I assessment report will be prepared to study the progress made and potential room for further activities for improvement.

Your own iDI-Nav® dashboard: a single administrative access point.

The iDI-Nav® score reflects the achieved score of the organization towards improving the D&I level within work settings. The iDI-Nav® score represents the average score of the five sub-categories of D&I barriers explored with the iDI-Nav® tool (D&I barriers at individual level, at domestic, social, cultural and organizational levels) which are intertwined and mirrored in work context. The lower the iDI-Nav® score, the better. Furthermore, a closer look at the scores of the five sub-categories of D&I barriers can reveal patterns warranting closer surveillance.

The core of the iDI-Nav® method: the iDI-Nav® tool

The core of the iDI-Nav® method is the iDI-Nav® tool (online survey questionnaire and algorithm). In the diagnose phase, the starting phase, the iDI-Nav® tool is collecting data on the D&I barriers faced by the explored group within the organizational work setting. The data is fully anonymized and is generated through a series of eighteen, interchangeable sets of questions applying the Best-Worst Scaling quantitative research method; the aim is to normalize all relative-importance weights of each barrier (Relative Importance Score generated by the Hierarchical Bayes estimation), to eliminate scale artifacts and to reduce social desirability bias since the participants evaluate tradeoffs among the included thirty (30) D&I barriers. Each participant is allocated a survey questionnaire via email embedding an anonymized unique participant token. The token expires once the survey questionnaire is filled or the survey has exceeded its due date and it cannot be used any longer.

The iDI-Nav® score: your achievement at a glance

The iDI-Nav® tool offers a unique feature to decrease any complexity and to enhance the direct access to organization’s iDI-Nav® findings and maps. The client organization is granted access to its own iDI-Nav® dashboard as a single administrative access point. For example, in client’s iDI-Nav® dashboard all relevant information can be found, such as  the organization’s iDI-Nav® profile (e.g. surveys, trainings, iDI-Nav® maps, etc.), pending tasks, the progress of the tasks (e.g. how many participants, starting and closing dates, notification upon completion of the iDI-Nav® survey questionnaire, etc.), as well as information on financial matters (e.g. history, agreements, pending invoices, new orders, etc.). Needless to say, the iDI-Nav® IT experts are available to help at every step you take.

The cost depends on several variables such as the number of participants, the number of applications of the iDI-Nav® tool, the selected training program, etc. Still, the sophisticated use of technology both for the application of the iDI-Nav® tool and for the training programs ensures a cost-effective pricing strategy.

To get reliable and accurate results, all working personnel has to fill in the iDI-Nav® survey questionnaire. Should not possible, the more participants, the better.

For start, no data are exchanged with client’s computer systems. This ensures that nobody in the organization can relate an employee with his questionnaire answers. Secondly, we have implemented full encryption in the whole operation cycle of the survey process. This means that there is no personal data or tokens are transmitted or stored in human readable form. And because no computer system is 100% secure, you can be sure that in case of a successful attack, the data will be useless to the attacker.

The results on the D&I barriers may be interpreted by studying the iDI-Nav® map which reflects both the actual range and the varying degree of D&I barriers’ prevalence within the explored organizational work setting. The “spikes” of the iDI-Nav® map depict the negative influence of each barrier in a scale of 100 (minimum negative prevalence: 0; maximum negative influence:100). Barriers with intense spikes, point out the fields which an organization may want to concentrate and improve on. The iDI-Nav® map produced in the Diagnose phase is considered as the D&I barriers’ baseline for comparison with the iDI-Nav® map produced in the Evaluate phase following the training and other activities to improve the D&I level in the organization and, thereby, to showcase any progress achieved.

In simple terms, the total score is the quantified D&I state of health of an organization; the highest the score the “healthier” the organization.

Realistically speaking, it is very difficult to achieve a perfect score, which would be 100. In that case, no D&I barrier spikes would exist and all the D&I barriers would be at balance. However, it may be argued that a D&I “healthy” organization is the organization that improves the D&I level in a steady and sustainable way.

All available D&I research methods require some kind of survey, where the “key” is the quality of the questionnaires that reflect to the quality of collected data. In contrast  to “classic” methodologies that cover only a part of D&I barriers and are prone to biased results, we use the full set of the 30 scientifically defined barriers classificated with the most accurate method: Best-Worst Scaling.

The size of the company is irrelevant. It has been scientifically and practically proven that the D&I strategies and policies increase the organizational performance and profitability by recruiting, retaining and promoting the best talents from all social, cultural and educational backgrounds

It ranges between 8 and 15 minutes.
